Tatting...

Am back in the mood for tatting and thought I may try my hand at designing some pieces. But to get some inspiration for new designs, I am looking back over some of the things I have made from other peoples patterns.

Tatted pincushions

I like small intricate work and seem to be obsessed with making things smaller. With corsets anything larger thant my 20" waspie is just pointless and with tatting, only the finest thread will do... It is incresingly difficult to get hold of fine crochet mercerised cotton, so whenever I do find some I snap it up.  I like to work with DMC 100 or 80 at the largest!  I have also worked using a good quality sewing thread before to make really tiny border for this scented drawer cushion I embroidered.

Tatting is a lot of fun and really relaxing and I like to do it while I am listening to music or an audio book or watching TV...

Oh dear oh dear.  Mo is a very long bunny and is bigger than Flo. She can stretch until she is very tall and can also jump quite high as I found out this morning.  Mo decided that this pen thing is definitely a pain because it stops her doing just whatever she likes... so she decided to jump out if it - she leaped ninja -style and cleared the two foot high panel with a little back flip and landed like Bambi on the floor the other side... Heart in throat moment for me but she seems to have escaped unscathed...  needless to say some relocation and emergency pen alterations are required...

Have finished a knitting project.  This is a pair of gloves - the pattern was taken from an Erika Knight book.

onto the next project now - am working on a patchwork/quilted wallhanging...

Friends no longer with us...

Before I get too carried away telling you all about my new little firends, I would like to spare a thought for little friends who are no longer with us. 

Mortimer and Willow who I hope are frolicking and nibbling all the carrots their hearts could desire in bunny heaven...

Morti and Willow were rescue bunnies and we had them for 6 happy years. They were awesome and are missed every day.

What a difference a day makes...

When you're a baby bunny, things change pretty rapidly.  The main thing of course is your size! I can't quite believe how fast these little buns are growing.  When Mo and Flo first came home they were 8 and 10 weeks old respectively. Look how tiny they were...

new to this blogging thing...

So have decided to give this blogging thing a go and see how long it lasts!  Two main things to blog about really... one being my crafty pursuits (of which there are many) and the other being my bunnies... They are super sweet and being incredibly proud of them just for being cute and gorgeous thought I would share them with you.... so here they are:

They are just babies at the moment and are currently learning how to be house bunnies...

So a little bit about me. Technically not a Goth but easiest way to describe me I guess. I love music of many genres actually but mostly centred around metal, gothic and operatic metal and classical with a little swing jazz and blues thrown in for good measure. I am into my crafts, no not witchcraft, just regular 'making stuff' crafts.  One of my passions is making corsets and I'll show you some of those later.  I also love all manner of needlework and knitting, crochet, tatting and lacemaking. In fact if you think of a fabric or thread related passtime, chances are at some point I will have tried it. 

I also have a strange love of tanks and militaria, but that's another story...

So check back soon and I will have perhaps added a new thread but just creating a new blog is probably enough excitement for one day... Disi...
